The Ballet Academy was founded by Donna Morris in 1997. The school is located at the Lakewood Center for the Arts in the heart of downtown Lake Oswego. The Ballet Academy's teaching philosophy focuses on proper technique and small class sizes with an emphasis on individual coaching to develop strength and musicality. The Academy specializes in a Russian/American style of ballet instruction and lyrical modern dance. The Ballet Academy also offers conditioning classes based on the Pilates method. In collaberation with the Lake Oswego Dance School, the Academy added a successful new class to the program last season. The schools teamed up to offer combination classes for preschool and level one students which combine two thirty minute sessions of ballet and tap back to back.
